President Keith Hinkley, Sponsors Gathered with State Legislators to Celebrate the Economic Development of Plaquemines Parish
Baton Rouge, LA- President Keith Hinkley and sponsors gathered with state legislators in Baton Rouge Tuesday, May 16 to highlight the economic progress of Plaquemines Parish. The development initiatives discussed aim to ensure the well-being of parish residents and contribute to the overall prosperity of Louisiana.
” We want to give thanks to all state legislators and businesses working closely together with Plaquemines Parish,” said President Hinkley. “Our continued investments sustaining our economic growth mark our commitment and continual effort to preserving our way of life for generations to come.”
Plaquemines Parish officials went to the state capitol early in the morning to show their appreciation to legislators. Coastal Resources and Protection Director John Helmers delivered home-grown tomatoes from Becnelville to each legislator, placing it on their desk.
On Tuesday evening, members from the state legislature showed their appreciation to Plaquemines Parish. They announced on the floor introducing the 76th Orange Queen Isa Rivera, the 2022 Seafood Queen Catherine Blondiau, 2022 Teen Queens Kadence Tassin and Amy Hochhalter, and Pearl Carley Morse. As soon as legislators were out of session, they made their way to the Pentagon Barracks Apartments at 5:30 p.m. to finish the celebration enjoying a Plaquemines Parish cuisine.
State Representative Mack Cormier made himself clear on a few things that sets Plaquemines Parish apart from other parishes, and that is Plaquemines Parish can make “the best food” and “throw the best party.”
The committee that hosted Plaquemines Day were Senators Sharon Hewitt, Pat Connick, Gary Carter, Parish President Keith Hinkley, Sheriff Gerald Turlich, Senate President Page Cortez, and State Representatives Mack Cormier, and Ray Garofalo.
The sponsors who made Plaquemines Day possible were Plaquemines Venture Global LNG, The Ansardi Group, Hancock Whitney, Plaquemines Parish Tourism Commission, the Parish Fire Department, the Parish Sheriff Department, Plaquemines Port, Venice Marina, Bywater Dockside, Waste Pro, Inframark, Plaquemines Association of Business and Industry, Plaquemines Parish Council and Port Commission, Plaquemines Parish Government, and other agencies.
President Keith Hinkley wants to add by saying, “recognizing these sponsors is a reminder of all the continual success they bring to Plaquemines Parish and that is keeping our parish moving forward and maintaining our heritage and livelihood.”
