COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Updates:
Parish President Kirk Lepine is in frequent communication with the Louisiana Department of Health regarding the Coronavirus. This page and our government website are dedicated to sharing as much relevant information with you, the citizens of Plaquemines Parish, as possible to ensure you are kept the most up to date.
“We want to make sure that we are one Parish in addressing concerns around the COVID-19 virus. We encourage residents to continue to follow all CDC precautions and to follow state and local media releases for the latest information”, said President Lepine
July COVID-19 Updates
We want to remind residents that the lab results are currently taking between 10-15 days. This is caused by the increasing number of tests that are occurring nationwide. Under normal conditions, the contracted lab can handle 110,000 cases per day but they are receiving 200,000 cases per day.
Please remember to take necessary precautions if you are in public especially if you have any underlying health conditions. As always, stay home if you are sick, wash or sanitize your hands regularly and practice social distancing.
