
Water Distribution in Lower Plaquemines Parish

Belle Chasse –Plaquemines Parish in coordination with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and the National Guard will be providing bulk water to residents of the lower end of Plaquemines Parish on the westbank. Tomorrow, August 17, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. residents can bring containers to the Buras Fire Station to pick up water. Water will be provided daily until barges are able to disperse fresh water into the Port Sulphur water intake location. The water in Plaquemines Parish is safe to consume but those with low sodium diets should monitor the sodium levels in their drinking water.
