Signing Ceremony for New Orleans to Venice Risk Reduction System

August 6, 2012 – Last week the U.S. Corps of Engineers and Plaquemines Parish finalized the Project Partnership agreement (PPA) for the New Orleans to Venice Levee Project (NOV). Colonel Edward Fleming from the Corps and President Billy Nungesser where present for the signing. The purpose of the NOV project is to upgrade the levees between New Orleans and Venice for increased storm protection.  The Project Partnership Agreement enables the Army Corps Of Engineers to move forward with construction of approximately 37 miles of back levee from Oakville south.
