Project Partnership Agreement Signing
The Parish Council recently gave its stamp of approval to the Project Partnership Agreement (PPA) with the Corps of Engineers and the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) that, when signed by the parties, will enable the Corps to commence construction of the new Federal storm surge risk reduction levee from Oakville to St. Jude and improvements to the existing Federal storm surge risk reduction levees from St. Jude to Venice and from Phoenix to Bohemia on the East Bank. The new Federal levee includes new and enhanced pump stations which, with the new levees, will lower the threat of Hwy. 23 flooding during storm events and abnormal tidal ranges.
