Entergy Update September 4. 2012
BELLE CHASSE -- Plaquemines Parish Government and Parish President Billy Nungesser are working closely with Entergy to restore power to residents and businesses in Plaquemines Parish as quickly as possible.
Belle Chasse:
Power has been restored to most Belle Chasse residents and businesses. Entergy estimates that power should be restored to all of Belle Chasse by the end of the day, except those locations that sustained damage to customer electrical equipment. Any residents or businesses without power should call 1-800-9-OUTAGE (688243)
South Plaquemines/West Bank:
Entergy crews are currently working to restore power to the southern end of Plaquemines Parish. Entergy estimates that power will be restored to Southern Plaquemines Parish, including Buras and Port Sulphur, in 4-6 weeks barring any unforeseen issues with accessibility.
East Bank:
Entergy is working to set up equipment on the east bank to begin power restoration, however, the presence of water is proving to be a logistical challenge. Power is estimated to be restored to east bank customers in 4-6 weeks. This estimate is subject to change as additional equipment is brought into the area.
Customer Facility Damages and Permits:
While Entergy is working diligently to return power to Plaquemines Parish, there will be some customers whose power cannot be restored immediately due to safety reasons. If customer-owned electrical equipment, such as the “weather head” and related conduit, has been damaged a licensed electrician must make repairs before Entergy can reconnect power. If the meter or any piping and wires on the wall of your building is missing or damaged, please contact a licensed electrician.
Once a customer has made repairs, they must obtain a permit from the Plaquemines Parish Permit Office. Residents can contact the Permit Office at 504.297.5342.
